Top 11 Teen Boy Books For The Athlete

We are home like many of you; staying quarantined and busy with online school. Your kids have more than likely been issued a recommended daily reading assignment from their English or Reading teacher. Our boys are asked to read at least 30 minutes a day. While we typically rent books from either the school library or our local public library and with that not currently being an option we decided to jump on Amazon and start browsing for some new books.

The list below was created by our two sons: Bryce (13) and Brayden (12). They've either read the following books before and loved them or we just ordered them from Amazon to start reading now during this global lock-down.

It's probably important that I mention, Bryce and Brayden are really into sports so this list is geared towards "the athlete"; particularly, football, basketball, soccer and track/field; in that order as a matter of fact. They only read books outside of the sports genre when it's required for school. What's important to me is that our kids have a good relationship with reading and genuinely love picking up a new book. So seeing them reading makes Mama happy!

You'll notice I have three Tim Green books on the list. Tim Green is one of their favorite authors. I could've listed more of his books, but I wanted to make sure this list had some variety. Green writes for the football player, baseball player, and some for the basketball player as well. Bryce and Brayden finish his books the fastest because they have a hard time putting them down.

My Holiday Gift Guide For The 12-15 Year Old Boy blog post went over so well over the Christmas season that I thought I'd share more of what my guys are into and I hope that it offers you some ideas (as boys can sometimes be difficult to buy for). If you would like to see more posts like this one, please shoot me an email and let me know. Also, I'm always open to suggestions! Please send yours to me here.

I hope that you and your family are safe and well during this worldwide health crisis. Our family is holding on to each other tightly and reminding ourselves to be grateful that we have all this time together... even though it can be difficult at times. We're looking forward to the day when the kids can hang out with their friends again and we can all go back to our normal lives. Until then let's wash our hands, stay at home, FaceTime friends and family, and continually love on our people.

God bless!

xoxo,

Hil
